This project is addressing the main challenges for our future. It seeks to transform existing buildings while creating public spaces for learning and teaching activities. The strength of the idea was in its intervention within the existing context (wherever that may be in Egypt’s vast urbanized-scapes) building on what is there. The public flyover connects the various learning spaces as they intertwine with the settlement. The jury found this notion of intervention and sustainability quite intriguing.
